FeeAlert ("we", "us", or "our") operates the website https://feealert.in and the FeeAlert platform (the "Service"). This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, disclose, and safeguard your information when you use our Service. Please read this policy carefully. If you disagree with its terms, please stop using the Service.

1. Information We Collect

We may collect the following types of information:

  • Account Information: Name, email address, phone number, and institution name when you register.
  • Student & Parent Data: Names, phone numbers, fee amounts, and payment records that you enter for your students.
  • Payment Information: Transaction IDs and payment statuses processed via Razorpay. We do not store card or bank account details.
  • Usage Data: Pages visited, features used, browser type, IP address, and timestamps for analytics and security purposes.
  • Communications: WhatsApp message delivery statuses and SMS logs for fee reminders sent through our platform.

2. How We Use Your Information

  • To provide, operate, and improve the FeeAlert platform.
  • To send fee reminder messages via WhatsApp and SMS to parents on your behalf.
  • To process payments and generate receipts through Razorpay.
  • To send you account-related emails (billing, security alerts, product updates).
  • To detect and prevent fraud, abuse, and unauthorized access.
  • To comply with applicable legal obligations.

3. Data Sharing & Third Parties

We share your data only with trusted service providers necessary to operate FeeAlert:

  • Supabase — Secure database and authentication hosting.
  • Razorpay— Payment processing (governed by Razorpay's own Privacy Policy).
  • Meta (WhatsApp Cloud API) — Sending WhatsApp notifications to parents.
  • Fast2SMS — Sending SMS notifications.
  • Resend — Transactional email delivery.

We do not sell, rent, or trade your personal data to any third party for marketing purposes.

4. Data Retention

We retain your account data for as long as your account is active or as required to provide you the Service. Student and fee records are retained until you delete them from your dashboard or close your account. Upon account deletion, we will remove your personal data within 30 days, except where retention is required by law.

5. Data Security

We implement industry-standard security measures including HTTPS encryption, Row Level Security (RLS) in our database, and secure API key management to protect your data. However, no method of internet transmission is 100% secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.

6. Your Rights

You have the right to:

  • Access the personal data we hold about you.
  • Request correction of inaccurate data.
  • Request deletion of your data (subject to legal obligations).
  • Withdraw consent for data processing at any time.
  • Lodge a complaint with the relevant data protection authority.

Account & Data Deletion Instructions: Educators can delete their entire account and all associated student, batch, fee records, and expense data at any time directly through the app dashboard by navigating to the Settings page, scrolling down to the Danger Zone, and clicking Delete Account.

Alternatively, or for other data deletion requests, you can email us directly at contact@feealert.in. We will process your request and permanently purge your data from our systems within 30 days.

7. Cookies

We use essential cookies for authentication sessions and preferences. We do not use third-party advertising or tracking cookies. You can disable cookies in your browser settings, though some features of the Service may not function properly.

8. Children's Privacy

Our Service is intended for use by educators (tutors, coaching centers) and is not directed to children under the age of 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13.

9. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify you of significant changes by posting a notice on our website or emailing you. Your continued use of the Service after changes become effective constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
